This "roule et lis les mots" game can be played individually or in pairs. Students will think they're just playing a game, but they'll actually be getting better at reading! 

This set of Roll & Read games will help you attend to the needs of more students because the boards are differentiated.

There are simpler boards and more difficult boards.

And there are boards with decoding clues and without (decoding clues are, for example, grayed-out silent letters and underlined digrammes and trigrammes)

What's the difference between the simpler and harder boards?

In general, simpler boards have 12 different words, repeated twice. Harder boards have 24 different words. There are some exceptions if the sound is more uncommon.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • All the words are decodable.
  • This isn't a vocabulary resource, so students might not know the meaning to some of the words, but they should be able to decode them. Treat "difficult meaning" words as "nonsense" words because the purpose of this game is to work on decoding skills, not comprehension skills.
